Physical Therapy Instructor
Chapman University’s Department of Physical Therapy seeks applications for an Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) and Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy to work with the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for expansion of the DPT program. The position is open beginning Summer 2014 or earlier. In the summer of 2014, the Department will move to the new Chapman University Health Science campus. This new campus is designed to foster an inter-professional educational environment and to use cutting-edge technology in teaching and practice. Physical Therapy’s new home will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including motional analysis and human anatomy laboratories and innovative teaching spaces. The Department will be co-located with new programs in the School of Pharmacy and the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
Work collaboratively with the DCE of the DPT program; use knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession to initiate, assess, carry out, and document outcomes for the clinical education program. Participate in collaborative research, teaching in area of expertise, professional/academic service including maintaining clinical competency (if applicable).

Education, training, experience:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapist professional program and licensed (or eligible for licensure) in California, DPT preferred. Candidates should have: 3 years of experience as a PT including 1 year of clinical coordination experience (CI credentialing preferred but not required); strong communication, organization, interpersonal, inter-professional, problem-solving, counseling, and technological communication skills or proven ability to learn. Able to work independently, foster inter-professional collaboration in the clinic, and coordinate work with others.
