Health Sciences Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor positions

The UCSF Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is recruiting 3 Health Sciences Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor positions to join the Faculty Practice with a key role in teaching graduate students in the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy.
The mission of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is to provide evidence-based, patient-centered physical therapy services for the community, and to educate scholarly, socially sensitive clinicians, educators, and researchers in physical therapy and rehabilitation science who will lead the profession into the next century. Physical therapy students and clinical faculty participate as part of a team within an environment of health care that is patient focused, and directed towards building the scientific base of clinical practice, with an eye toward quality, accessibility, and efficiency.
The UCSF Faculty Practice serves a broad range of patients (adolescents to elders) with a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal problems. The applicant for this position is expected to:
1) practice evidence based, high quality care;
2) teach students in the clinical setting;
3) market the Faculty Practice to UCSF and the surrounding communities; and
4) maintain an active dialog with the physicians who refer to the Practice.
This faculty member will also play an active role teaching in the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy, which offers an Entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program. The candidate is expected to have experience in classroom teaching in a graduate program. Applicants must have a record of professional leadership and demonstrated success in advising and mentoring graduate students. The faculty member is expected to participate in university governance, faculty meetings, departmental administrative meetings, quality assurance programs and continuing education.
The applicant for this full time position must be a physical therapist with a license to practice in California and have at least 5 years of experience in patient care. The applicant must have a DPT degree and an area of practice expertise, as well as clinical teaching and/or clinical research experience. Preferred areas of expertise are Chronic Pain, Sports Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Neurological Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, and Acute Care.
